As the founder of Moms Demand Action, I am proud to announce the endorsement by our partner, Everytown for Gun Safety, of one of Arizona’s leading gun safety champions, Representative Jennifer Longdon! 

I chose the word “demand” in our title very intentionally. It’s not enough to elect leaders who share condolences when tragedy strikes or who pledge action in the moment only to forget days later. We need to support candidates and politicians who also demand action to protect our loved ones from gun violence. 

Jennifer Longdon demands action to make our communities safer every single day.

But let’s be clear about the kind of personal sacrifice and courage Jennifer exudes everyday in making gun safety her top priority. Jennifer was a victim of random gun violence that left her paralyzed and changed her life forever. Every time there is a shooting or when she’s called to speak, Jen relives that traumatic moment over and over. And she does it because she has chosen to dedicate her life to making sure none of us experience what she did, both as a volunteer with Moms Demand Action and in elected office.

For this reason and many others, Everytown for Gun Safety and I think the voters of Legislative District 5 have an easy choice in this race and it’s to vote to re-elect Jennifer Longdon to the State House of Representatives. And, after you drop your ballot in the mail, please chip in what you can.
